FAIR, alerty handled, broke rapidly and immediately opening up a big lead continued gamely but just lasted to outstay CLAP IN. CLAP IN followed closest in pursuit of the pacemaker throughout, came with a rush in the final eighth and was gaining rapidly nearing the end. MASKED PLANE acted badly at the gate, broke from outside the stalls and, moving up with a rush in the last eighth, showed a good effort LEGAL ADVICE was away well but tired in the last sixteenth. MARVEL PLAY, taken under light restraint soon after the start and .forced to race wide when working its way up, responded readily to strong urging in the final quarter and wore down LEE WEE in the last seventy yards. LEE WEE was blocked when she attempted to get through on the inside on the far turn, was taken to the outside, disposed of MISS WISE but could not withstand the winner. MISS WISE a factor from the start, tired under severe pressure in the stretch. SO GOOD improved his position gradually but faltered near the end. THORNBY showed speed for a half mile. VELLAS CHOICE tired. MORRIS GRINER trailed throughout and attempted to bolt on the turns. Overweight So Good, 3 pounds. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MTLE Out of Chute. BRILLIANT LIGHT, much the best, was rated off the pace for three-eighths, was forced wide when moving up at the stretch turn, easily disposed of FOR ROMANCE and drew clear in the last sixteenth. TAX PAYER, hard hustled throughout, closed gamely under vigorous urging. RIFF began slowly, was unable to keep up in the first half mile and closed a good gap in the last eighth. MISS WHISKAWAY was rushed into the lead soon after the start, saved ground throughout but tired when challenged. FOR ROMANCE faltered badly after getting to the front in the final quarter. GABLE, well up throughout and vigorously handled the final quarter, responded courageously and wore down BLACK BUDDY in the last strides. The latter slipped through on the inside at the stretch turn, assumed a slight lead and continued gamely but was unable to withstand the winner. KING CARL began slowly, worked his way up gradually between horses and showed a good effort. MY BLAZE tired in tho drive. SUPER LUCK was throgh after displaying speed for three-eighths. REAPING REWARD, away with the leaders and rated off the pace, came through on the inside after going .seven-eighths and, with a big saying of ground at the stretch, drew Jnto a slight lead when straightened out and, withstanding a hard drive, gamely outstayed EAGLE PASS and was lame after the race. EAGLE PASS, slow to start and far back for a half mile, worked its way up on the outside and, responding to strong urging, gained rapidly in the final quarter. FLYING SCOT broke swiftly, opened up a good lead rounding the first turn and held on -with good courage. OVER THE TOP, slow to start, encountered slight interference at the far turn, recovered quickly and finished strongly. DELLOR, never far back, moved up threateningly on the rail in the final quarter, tiring in the final eighth. HEELFLY tired and dropped back in the last eighth.
