FILLIES IN ILLINOIS DERBY Silver Sarah, Dolly Val and Bunny Baby Represent Weaker Sex. Bunny Baby Kan Second to Wise Fox in Louisiana Derby and Silver Sarah Was Kunner-Up to Tiger in Arkansas Derby. AURORA, 111., May 21.— Three fillies are among the eligibles for the seventh running of the 2,000 added Illinois Derby, which comes up for decision next Saturday at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs track and two of these have been runners-up in Derbys earlier in the year. The trio of fillies are Bunny Baby, Silver Sarah and Dolly Val, and all are likely to be among the contestants in the mile and a furlong duel in the first of the major stakes of the Illinois racing season and is expected to reflect the ability of the three-year-olds which have been seen in action during the current meeting. E. K. Brysons Bunny Baby, one of the recent nominations to the rich stake, has the distinction of being beaten a narrow margin by A. G. Tarns Wise Fox in this years running of the Louisiana Derby, and but for I j her saddle slipping during the run through j i the stretch, many are of the opinion that the chestnut daughter of Transmute — Bye o Baby would have proved the winner. EXPECT FILLY FROM MARYLAND. Although Bunny Baby is not on the I grounds at present, Fox Valley Jockey Club officials believe that trainer G. R. Bryson ■ j intends sending the filly from Maryland to | fulfill the engagement. Bunny Baby was | j j one of the most consistent of three-year-olds | which were campaigned during the winter I ! at the Louisiana Jockey Club. The other ! ! Derby runner-up, A. R. Borns Silver Sarah, 1 lost a length and a half decision to the Milky j j Way Farms highly-regarded Tiger in the re- | newal of the Arkansas Derby and Chi-cagoans will be pulling for the daughter of i Bon Homme — Flamme Verte to move up a | notch and score a victory for the Windy City contingent. The third member of the group is another Chicago-owned racer, James Emerys Dolly i | Val, which was a starter in both the Louisiana and Arkansas Derbys, but failed to finish inside the money on either occasion. Extremely adverse track conditions which have prevailed for the past two weeks at the Fox Valley track has had a tendency to retard the training activities of the candidates on the grounds, but several of the eli- | gibles have engaged in competition during that period.
