STABLES ARRIVING AT CRETE Large Shipments of Horses Coming From Churchill Downs and Aurora Tracks. CRETE, 111., May 21.— Although stables have been coming in at Lincoln Fields at intervals during the last week, the influx will become general within the next forty-eight hours when horses are to arrive in wholesale lots from Churchill Downs and Aurora. About eighty per cent of the horses which will take part in the local meeting opening Decoration Day will come from these two tracks with the remainder to be made up of stables from California and the East. Some of the principal arrivals during the past week included Warren Wrights Calumet Farm establishment, trained by Frank J. Kearns, and the largest scheduled to participate in the meeting, and a number of stables which came here from Keeneland. Quite a few trainers are dividing their stables at Louisville and will send ahead divisions of their strings to reach Lincoln Fields in time for the opening while the other horses will remain at the Louisville track for the final few days of the session. With the close of the Downs the several stables to be divided will be fully assembled here. Some of the horsemen who have arranged to come on from Kentucky before the close of Louisville are Robert McGarvey with the Milky Way Farms string, Jake Lowenstein with his own thoroughbreds and also those belonging to Morris Vehon, Jack Hodgins with the Millsdale-A. B. Letellier racers, D E. Stewart with the J. E. Widener horses and others. From the Fox Valley course will come many of the stronger stables which operated there. Some of these include Mrs. A. M Creech, C. E. Davison, P. L. Kelley, A. g! Tarn, Corsicana Stable, N. W. Burkhart] Frank Abbate, Frank Seremba, L. M. Sever-son, C. E. Dale, A. R. Born, James Emery, Mrs. E. Oros and Jack Bainton.
