ODDESA MAID forced the pace under occasional light urging, took a short advantage under increased pressure and held on well to retain it in the final eighth. NOAJEAN, well up from the start and taken out after reaching the turn, continued to lace wide while closing gamely under strong uroin* and but for veering out sharply in the alte stages, might have won. DUSKY MAID, away slowlv. improved her pos.tion gradually, was taken to the inside in the stretch and hung in the last sixteenth "jUBILEST lost much ground and finished fast in her good effort. ONYOURWAY, away fast but unable to keep up was going well in the final stages. COURTAWAY bore out when faltering in the stretch. Overweight— Dusky Maid, 4 pounds. NIGHT BANDIT received a hustling ride and, shaking off MALEMAN. held VALDINA safe. The latter, forced back for a half mile, closed in determined fashion. WOWO suffered light interference in the opening quarter and closed well. MALEMAN tired. BLACK MISTRESS, away slowly and racing wide, could not reach the leaders and tired in the stretch. MUCHO GUSTO forced the pace under strong restraint, took an easy lead approaching the final quarter, went out badly entering the stretch and tired after drawing clear in the final eighth, but lasted. ARABS ARROW, probably best and rated off the pace under a steady hold, suffered light interference while being carried out by MUCHO GUSTO after starting to move up entering the stretch, was slow to recover when clear, but finished fast and was wearing down the winner. EAGLE PASS, slow to begin and kept on the inside for almost three-quarters, rallied only mildly when placed to urging and faltered under his impost in the last tluee-sixteenths. BROADWAY made a good pace for the going, but tired in the last quarter. KNEE DEEP had no mishaps. BACON raced into command under brisk urging, went out sharply soon after reaching the turn, withstood a strong challenge from LASSATOR after reaching the stretch, and won drawing out, but had little left. LASSATOR had speed from the start, cut to the inside as BACON bore out on the turn, challenged in determined fashion, but tired in the final sixteenth. CANDESCENT, eased bark as BACON and LASSATOR blocked her soon after reaching the turn, was slow .to recover, but finished fast and was rapidly wearing LASSATOR down. LITTLE NYMPH was racing stronsly and on the inside when forced back on the turn, and did not threaten thereafter. TEXAS ROSE had no mishaps. Scratched— 57639 Sorties Son. 100. FUMBLE was under energetic riding after reaching the last three-eighths, reading submitted to the winner, but outstayed OVERPLAY. The latter, taken back several times, bore out badly soon after reaching the stretch, but came out in the last sixteenth and was rapidly wearing FUMBLE down. FLYING BANNER was outrun.
