f AIRM0UNT PARK ATTRACTS Nearby St. Louis Horsemen Always I Well Represented — Coming Meeting Will Prove No Exception. COLLINSVILLE, 111., May 21.— Fairmount Park race meetings never fail to attract nearby St. Louis horsemen, and with the I thirty-one-day spring campaign scheduled to open Decoration Day, May 30, four local stables shipped in, with more almost certain to follow. Frankie Kurinec, Glenn Woodman, Julius Goedecke and the Neal Brothers, Basile and Bernard, unloaded their respective equines at the East Side course; Kurinec having four, Woodman three, Goedecke five, and the Neal Brothers two; and each expressed confidence that their entrants would be prominent during the impending season. Kurinec, who is now classed as a succes-1 ful trainer after deserting the riding ranks, ! where he also shone, has as his ace, Transen, i a four-time winner at New Orleans last winter, in addition to The Jurist, Scotch Thistle and Red Colonel. Transen has quite a local following, for she won a couple of purses at last falls meeting, and in previous campaigns, also ran commendably. WOODMANS TRIO. Glenn Woodmans trio are Egmont, Frontier and Kingshighway, and came from Miami, where they raced last winter. While he is training the group, they actually belong to his father, the well-known Al Woodman, who now is head conditioner for the noted Le Mar Stock Farm. When Al Woodman raced horses in his own name, he had such stars as Cotlogomor, winner of a 0,000 New Orleans Handicap, and Boon Companion, winner of a 5,000 Miami Cup. Goedecke has the distinction of never having missed a meeting at Fairmount since I the tracks opening in the fall of 1925, and j for the coming season his five include the I veteran Senator Seth, Brilliant Glow, Miss Shepard, Lady Shepard and March King. j The quintet were turned out after last falls I campaign and are fresh to race. Goedecke ! has signed the youngster, Joe Bomar, to do the riding for the stable. The two the Neal Brothers have are Baste and Red Magic, and the pair raced well last winter at New Orleans, Baste particularly winning several purses. *
