BUDSIS, steadied in close attendance of the speedy LOTEER the first quarter, came to the outside of the loader for the drive, closed gamely under pressure, and was going away at the end. LOTEER was hustled to the lead after being taken over sharply leaving the start, drew clear rounding the turn, came gamely to the end, but was unable to hold the winner. ARCHWORTH forced the early running then faltered nearing the end. JELWELL made up ground. DONEDNA was shuffled back at the start, then closed gamely when clear. TRIGGISH tired badly. MARYS CRICKET had brief speed. TOFRISIA stumbled at the start and unseated its rider. Overweight — Budsis, 2 pounds ; Baljoe, 2 . SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. JESTING, much the best, followed in close attendance of the pace the first half mile, swung to the outside of the leaders when straightened away in the stretch run, wore down the leaders with apparent ease and drew clear at the end. PATTERTOE raced SWEEPDEN into defeat in the first throe-eighths, drew clear entering the stretch but was unable to hold the winner in the drive to the end. DIABROOM, slow to settle in his stride, closed with good courage the final quarter in making-up ground. SWEEPDEN displayed good early speed, then faltered after the first half mile. The latter, well placed from the start and under steady restraint, came gamely to the end and outfinished GREATOREX. The latter sot the pace from the start, fenced well, gave way to the winner leaving the final fence, then held on well to the finish. BUNTY LAWLESS, well handled, was rated in close attendance of the pace the first mile, came to the outside of the pacemaker MONA BELL, wore her down and drew clear nearing the end. MONA BELL had speed from the start, was hustled into the lead at once, drew clear through the back stretch and held on gamely, but was unable to contend with the closing rush of the winner. CABIN GAL, rated off the pace the first seven eighths, moved up threateningly entering the stretch, but was unable to threaten the loaders. GRAND DAME made a move threateningly after going a mile, then tired. CARACOLE came with a rush through the final half mile. TABMARK raced evenly. SLYCAT was in close quarters at the start, then made up ground.* ALDWYCH could never threaten. SUFFERN forced the pace, then quit badly after going a mile. WICKLOW was pinched back leaving the start. PAGAN KING had speed from the start, drew away in the first quarter and closed willingly, but was unable to hold the winner. WESTYS HERO saved ground from the start, moved through next to the inner rail in the stretch and closed with good courage. LISSOM LAD. away slowly, made up ground. The latter had speed from the outset, took command entering the stretch, then faltered through the final drive. HARRYS DREAM made up ground. SWEET POLLY II. quit after cutting out the early running. WINGED FLIGHT, slow to settle in its best stride, worked its way forward on the outside and outfinished KING BOB. The latter, away slowly after being placed outside the stalls, closed with a rush through the final quarter. RED TREE worked its way forward on the inside, closing a good gap. LAFITOFF had speed for three-quarters, then quit badly. NIGHTS END moved up threateningly in the stretch run, then faltered. CHINSILLA quit. Scratched— 514452Acajou, 109. TOMMY ROSE, well placed throughout, outfinished SEMESTER. The latter forced the early pace then faltered in the drive. SHICAHRI came with a belated ru 0i through the final quarter mile. AULD REEKIE went evenly. CRATAEGUS could never threaten. APERITIF quit badly.
