1 AURORA TURF NOTES 8 * The four-year-old filly Sprightly Girl, owned by Mrs. H. M. Weaver, has been turned over to A. B. Campbell to train, and the racer will be sent to Fairmount Park for campaigning. Apprentice J. G. Wilson, under contract to Paul L. Kelley, appears to be on his way to the riding championship of the Fox Valley meeting. The youngster has a good lead ; over Paul Ryan, who gained honors here last year. Frank Hoffman, noted artist from Taos, N. M., was a visitor at Aurora Monday. His ! paintings of thoroughbreds have attracted I worldwide interest. He is en route to the match race at Belmont Park between War Admiral and Seabiscuit. Blanks for the 1940 New England Futurity, 5,000 added stakes event at Narra-gansett, arrived at Aurora Monday morning and were distributed by the racing secretary. Condition books for the meeting at the same point also were distributed. Prior to his departure for Agawam Sunday morning, Dan Hardy obtained the plater Beaver Lake from A. G. Tarn in a private transaction, and the racer was added to the string that Hardy will race at the Springfield Mass. course. C. E. Dale, Frank Abbate and Dan Wom-eldorff transferred their thoroughbreds from the Fox Valley track to Lincoln Fields Sunday to be on hand for the inauguration of the season at the Crete course next Monday. Other shipments to that point are scheduled during the week.
