ยป JUSTICE DEPARTMENT REPORT According to a report of the Department of Justice,, fifty-one deaths classified either as murder or manslaughter took place in the city of Chicago during the first quarter in 1938. New York city led the list with a total of sixty-six killings. Peoria was the only city with a population of 100,000 or over that didnt have a single murder during that period.
