Y., May 23.— Snark, the five-year-old son of Boojum and Helvetia, which races for the Wheatley Stable, will be sent out Saturday in the Old Suburban Handicap in the hope he will redeem himself for his defeat in the Metropolitan by Danger Point. Yesterday morning at Aqueduct, Fitzsimmons permitted the Paumonok winner to go along in a sensational mile and a furlong trial. Showing remarkable speed all the* way, the son of Boojum ran in 1:50% and had plenty left at the end of the first mile. He ran the first half in :47-i, the six furlongs in 1:12, seven furlongs in 1:2413, mile in :tl%, and the distance in 1:50%. Seldom has a faster trial been shown and at the end of the fast gallop the horse had plenty left. Jerome Louchheims Pompoon, topweight and winner of the Dixie Handicap, had his most recent trial feature at Belmont Park Sunday morning. The son of Pompey and Oonagh w- i sent along for a mile and a furlong through the rain and over a slow track in 1:87%. The move was a thoroughly gooa one considering the weather and tracl« conditions. Some of the other candidate es« the Suburban were out either Sunday oi Monday morning, but these were the moves that attracted attention.
