STALLION ESCOBA DIES The aged Escoba died in Texas recently. He was a brown horse 1915 by Broomstick—Christmas Star by Star Shoot. He had been totally blind and deaf for two years. Escoba was bred by K. D. Alexander at the Woodburn Farm in Kentucky, and raced under that popular breeders colors. At two, he won the Idle Hour Stakes at Lexington, Bashford Manor at Churchill and Harold Stakes at Latonia. He finished second in the Belmont Park Futurity, and carried off the Breeders Futurity at Lexington. At three, he won the Derby Trial Stakes, and finished second to Exterminator in the Kentucky Derby of 1918. Escoba sired some good horses, both in Kentucky and Texas.
