CARL B. MARLMAN RETURNS Will Again Serve as Paddock Judge at Omaha — Identified With Racing Since 1914. OMAHA, Neb. May 23.— Carl B. Mailman, identified with the racing game since 1914, is returning to Ak-Sar-Ben to again serve as paddock judge for the meeting which opens next Saturday, May 28, and Marlman has officiated at Ak-Sar-Ben since racing was restored in Nebraska. A former owner and trainer, judge Marl-man has been in close touch with the racing sport and carries the confidence of turfmen and public alike. Starting as a trainer and owner, Marlman at one time was identified with the pretentious establishment of Mrs. Emil Denemark as manager of the breeding farm. Mr. Marl-mans father, G. H. Marlman, is still active as a trainer. Marlman has devoted the past few weeks in Ohio and Kentucky doing missionary work for the Omaha meeting, engaging stables for the Ak-Sar-Ben races. He recently informed W. H. Schellberg, chairman of the Ak-Sar-Ben racing committee, that indications point to the largest entry in local history. Owners are enthusiastic about coming to Omaha for a chance at that increased purse money," Marlman wrote.
