| MATCH RACE NOTES 1 Bryan Field, broadcasting over a nationwide CBS network out of Station WABC, New York will present notables of the 00,000 race between War Admiral and Sea-biscuit on May 30 in four broadcasts next week. On Wednesday May 25, Field will broadcast from the stalls of War Admiral and Sea-biscuit at Belmont Park between 9 a. m. and 9:26 a. m. On Thursday, May 26, jockeys Charley Kurtsinger and "Red" Pollard, riders of War Admiral and Seabiscuit respectively, will be interviewed by Field between 5:15 and 5:30 p. m. from Belmont Park. Field will broadcast the running of the Suburban Handicap between 4 and 4:30 p. m. and introduce the latest news bulletins on the War Admiral-Seabiscuit race Saturday afternoon. On Sunday evening between 8 and 9 p. m., C. V. Whitney, sponsor of the big race, Samuel D. Riddle, owner of War Admiral, and Charles S. Howard, owner of Seabiscuit, will be interviewed by Field. Ed Cochrane, sports editor of the Chicago American, wired that he will arrive in New York Sunday, May 29, to cover the 00,000 War Admiral-Seabiscuit race here on Decoration Day. John Carmichael, sports columnist of the Chicago Daily News, also is coming to cover i the big race. Reservations also have been made for Edgar G. Horn, president and publisher of the Turf and Sports Digest, and Fred M. Schanze, former business manager of the Baltimore Orioles and now associate publisher of Turf and Sports Digest. Five new turnstiles will be installed on the backstretch side of the Belmont Park course to admit the infield patrons for the 00,000 race between War Admiral and Seabiscuit on May 30. The infield crowd will pass through these stiles, cross the main track at three special gaps along the backstretch and into the infield. The Seabiscuit camp will ask Belmont Park officials to open the mile and a quarter chute in order that their horse will be able to gallop over the full route of the 00,000 mile and a quarter special race with War Admiral. At present the schooling barrier is set up on the main track. Neither camp is missing opportunities to make the special race horses familiar with the surroundings and conditions they will meet on I race day. In an effort to accommodate those seek- 1 1 ing box seats for the 00,000 race on May 30, Joseph E. Widener, president of the Westchester Association, who is ill at his home in Philadelphia, has given up one of two boxes allotted for his use at Belmont Park. On the back of the red and white racing colors that Charles S. Howards Seabiscuit will carry into the 00,000 race against War Admiral is a red "H" in an inverted triangle, the old cattle brand used on the Howard ranch in California. Charles S. Howard, owner of Seabiscuit, and John "Red" Pollard, his jockey, will be interviewed by Clem McCarthy at Station WJZ at 7:00 Friday evening.
