TORCHEEN had speed from the start and was sent to the lead at once, struck the fourth hurdle, but was quickly straightened, withstood repeated bids from SOLAR TIME and closed gamely., SOLAR TIME raced forwardly placed throughout, moved up threateningly after going a mile and a half, then came wide in the stretch and tired under pressure. MONOCLE, outrun the first mile, made up ground thereafter. RURAL SHOWER raced evenly. IRISH ENVOY quit after the first mile. MARTHAS FOLLY dwelt when the start came and trailed the field. CUVANNA was sent forward into the lead on the inside in the first quarter mile, saved ground throughout and closed willingly. LITTLE SARGENT, slow to settle in his best stride, came- to the outside in the stretch and closed with a rush. SIMOSEE, well placed and saving ground throughout, had no mishaps. BELLEDARE raced evenly. BLUE WREN faltered through the final three-eighths. SPEY CREST saved ground leaving the back stretch, then tired. ROCKROMA had brief speed. UCHA forced the pace from the start and faltered in the drive. LAVANJO sprinted into the lead and quit through the final eighth. BLACK ASH raced evenly.
