SKOTCHY came over sharply after the start, made the pace without need of strong urging, was briskly roused on the stretch turn and held his advantage to the end. . POLANTE SETH raced wide on the first turn, was strongly ridden the last quarter, but could not reach the winner. HONEY ROLL, never far back, was hustled along throughout and closed gamely. BEAU THOR was forced wide on the first turn and tired in the last eighth. CHARLES J. could not improve- his position. GREYBROOM was in close quarters much of the way. EYE HIGH, quick to take command, raced wide on the first turn, was taken slightly in hand when outrun by QUENNA, put the latter away entering the stretch and held CHIEFS BOY safe. The latter, never a great distance back, was put to good pressure after a quarter and closed strongly. QUENNA had good speed for a half mile and then tired. BENA BANE, hustled along from the beginning, lost ground on the second turn and held on fairly well. VULJEST tired after three-eighths. KITTY CARROLL, fractious at the post, did not threaten. TARTARUS could not threaten the leaders. BOSTON SOUND, fractious at the post and placed outside of the stalls for the start, raced wide and tired after five-eighths. FIRM HAND made the pace without need of strong urging, held on well to the last eighth and then tired. GRASSWRACK, never far back, was hard ridden after three-quarters and tired near the end. TWO TRICKS made the pace without need of strong urging, was put to pressure when challenged and held on fairly well. HOOK IT raced evenly. BOILING POINT was in hand for three-quarters and tired when put to pressure thereafter.
