FLYING EBONY DOING NICELY Heads Stud at 11,000-Acre Perkins Place, Called Alisal Ranch, in California. SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. ll. Flying Ebony, Kentucky Derby winner of many years ago and one of the greatest mud horses ofl his time, is doing nicely at the Alisale Ranch near Santa Barbara. Flying Ebony heads the stud of the 11,000 acre Perkins Place -and his owner is planning to bring some outstanding mares to his court. Flying Ebony is now in his sixteenth year I and is probably the most gentle sire in Cali-1 fornia. When inspected by a number ofi newspapermen recently he stood perfectly still for at least ten minutes and" when! turned loose in his paddock was as playful as a kitten. j Chas. E. Perkins, Flying Ebonys owner, ! is proud of the sire and is of the opinion that he will be a top-notched producer for many years to come. Several of his get will be seen in action on California tracks after the first of the year.
