- JAPAN FORCED TO PAY CASH NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 13 With her Back flat against a virtual international credit wall, Japan was rushing new troops into South China in what she hopes will be the final drive of that adventure, culminating in the capture of Canton. A survey completed today of international bankers and large New York export firms dealing with Japan revealed that the nation of the Rising Sun is strictly on a hard cash basis. Although leading international bankers and American exporters are willing to admit that Japan might well continue her Chinese aggression policy for from two to four years, all turn a deaf ear to her urgent pleadings for credit.
