Start poor and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. DOUBLE BACK, going in near pursuit of the leaders, responded strongly to take the lead when reaching the stretch, was kept under steady pressure and outstayed. BIG HURRY. The latter, away very slowly, worked her way forward steadily,, lost a great deal of ground in the last five-sixteenths and finished with excellent courage. She was worked out a mile. OUTDONE raced SWEET NANCY into submission, saved ground and held on gamely. SWEET NANCY was strongly handled to keep in contention early, but tired under punishment in the last eighth. BASS WOOD was away poorly, then closed a good gap and was worked out a milo. MORSTEP raced well placed, but tired when shaken up. SUZANNE PECK could not keep up. LADY SOLACE broke poorly and had no chance. TRIM RIGGING also left poorly. WENT TO POST 2:07. OFF AT ONCE. Start cond and fast. Won easily; second and third driving. PRATTLER, striking several of his fences and steadied back of the pacemaker for the first mile and a half, went to the front going to the eleventh fence, swerved repeatedly coming to his fences, but held LITTLE WOMAN perfectly safe at the close. LITTLE WOMAN was kept witliin striking distance of the leaders, made a stout hid going to the twelfth fence, but was unable to menace thereafter. VALPUISEAUX, badly outrun for the first turn of the field, Tailed to threaten at any stage. GUATEMALA fenced nicely while setting the pace, was caught at the eleventh fence and lost his rider at the next to the last jump. He was remounted to finish in the time limit. MERIGA raced forwardly and fell at the tenth fence. JACAMAR fell at the ninth jump and BIG MARCH lost rider at the fourth fence. Scratched 67601 Bell Man, 138. FELSUN outran his field to the first turn, drew clear when straightened into the back stretch, responded readily when challenged ncaring the stretch and came away from PREDESTINED in the last eighth. PREDESTINED, cased back off the winner midway of the back stretch, rallied gamely when placed to a hard drive, made a stout bid on the stretch turn, then faltered in the final issue. CRITT, never far from the leaders and racing clear on the outside, finished willingly under strong urging in the last three-sixteenths. CHATABIT was prominent all the way, saved ground and continued gamelv to the finish. ELLACAW could not stay. TOPEE raced very wide most of the trip. MOLIDA collided with WINNING MARK on the first turn, then failed to enter contention. HAPPY KNOT opened up a long lead in the early racing, began tiring in the last eichth and had to be punished in the closing eighth to withstand DARK SUN and BROWN KNIGHT. DARK SUN was in nearest pursuit of the winner from the start and came gamely in the final drive. BROWN KNIGHT bettered his position stoutly from a slow beginning and came between horses to be in a dead heat for second place. MATTAPONY was stoutly handled all the way and showed a good effort. DIXIELAND raced well placed, but failed to menace when placed to a hard drive. MARCHING FEET raced evenly. BAIN MARIE was outrun. GENIE PALATINE broke slowly and trailed throughout. The latter, kept on the inside from the beginning, failed to threaten the winner seriously when placed to punishment. DUB worked his way forward on the outside and came gamely in the closing drive. SEA GULL was pinched off going to the first turn, swung to the outside when clear, but failed to engage the leaders. BRAVING DANGER was never dangerous. BOOSEL struck the fence going to the first turn when crowded and had no chance. FLYING VIM was outrun. DIPLOMACY quit badly. LADOGAN lost much ground on the first turn, then was used up holding a prominent position. BRIGHT SPIRITS raced in spots. FLYING FEET quit. BEACON QUEEN showed early speed. The others were outrun.
