DOMINATE ECONOMICALLY BERLIN, Germany, Oct. 17. German economic penetration of the entire Balkan Peninsula and Turkey, giving the Reich virtual domination of all the area from the North to the Black Sea, was proclaimed by Walter Funk, minister of economics, today upon his return from a bargaining expedition that took him to Istanbul. In his economic drive to the East, Funk revealed in an interview in the Ammitag that he was so successful that the economic ministers of Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Turkey readily accepted invitations to come to Berlin for further negotiations. "Those three countries," Funk proclaimed, "now form a sort of Balkan axis from the German border to the Black Sea."
