j KEENELAND TURF NOTES f $ $ Nominations for the Greenwich Handicap for three-year-olds and upward at six furlongs and the Fort Springs Handicap, also for three-year-olds and upward at one mile and one-sixteenth, close Thursday. Both races are preliminaries to lhe Breeders Futurity, the hcadliner next Saturday, which is the final day of the successful Keeneland meeting. Assistant racing secretary Sidney S. Brown returned from Louisville after spending the week-end at the Falls City. Irving Kort, who maintains the Kort Manor Farm near Louisville, intends turning his stable out at his farm after the Churchill Downs meeting comes to a close. He has Babe Taylor, Dahlia and Menen here. Trainer Lee ODonnell reported the six-year-old gelding Bacon, the star of the Tall Trees Stable, broke down so badly in his last race it will be necessary to turn the horse out at the Tall Trees Farm at Anchorage, Ky., until next spring. ODonnell is hopeful of returning the veteran to competition next year. Burley Parke and John Hazza are making an effort to fill a car going to Pimlico after the local meeting. Parke has two horses he wants to ship to the Maryland track, while Hazza has only one. D. B. Midkiff reported the sale of Flying Bonny, a two-year-old daughter of Flying Heels Bonny Dear to Louis B. Mayer who will ship the filly to California. Frank Grill has been instructed to report to S. G. Baker, who has nine horses at Churchill Downs. Grill expects to remain here and accept mounts the balance of the meeting before reporting to Baker. The eight head Tom Sanford has here for J. Graham Brown will be shipped to Churchill Downs Wednesday.
