HAS CHANCE FOR RECOVERY HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 17. Love of life would have been blasted from the heart of Ruth Etting if her present husband, Myrl Alderman, had been fatally wounded by the man she formerly was married to, the singing star declared today. "If Myrl had died I dont know what would have happened to me," she said. "He is the sweetest thing in the world. Im thankful that Snyder Martin "Moe" Snyder, her divorced husband didnt hurt Myrl worse than he did." Although assured by surgeons that unless her husbands abdominal wound becomes infected he will recover, the singing star of the stage, radio and screen revealed the great emotional strain she had been under by declaring: "I dont believe I will ever sing again ever."
