I TANF0RAN TURF NOTES Qy. . Bon Centime pulled up very lame following the .running of the eighth race Friday and will be on the shelf for some time. E. H. Beezley has hopes of saving- the useful colt, The Shingler, for further racing. The colt pulled up very lame Friday and it was feared that he would have to be destroyed. J. Kingsley Macomber, former steward representing the California Horse Racing Board, was a visitor at Tanf oran Friday. Sire and offspring started on the same day at Tanforan. recently when Fence Rider and Dalfence went postward. Dalfence is a daughter of Fence Rider. When T. E. Crist saddled Sistina and Binocular for winning efforts Friday, it was the first time in thirty years that the veteran trainer had sent two winners to -the post in a single afternoon. He last performed the feat when training for the late Barney Schreiber at Vancouver, B. C. Jockey Warren Van Tassel left for Narra-gansett. Saturday night. The boy who was leading apprentice at Tanforan last fall has been in a slump since the present meeting began and believes that a change of scenery will benefit him. Schooling of two-year-olds will be conducted by starter Eddie Thomas at both Tanforan and Bay Meadows Monday afternoon. Geo. W. Schilling, at present serving as presiding steward at Caliente, has been reengaged to act in a like capacity at Bay Meadows, which means that a new head official must be appointed for week-end racing at the. Baja California track during Schillings sojourn in. northern California. Art Sparks, mutuel head at Bay Meadows, will be chief of the mutuel department during the summer meeting at Reno, Nev.
