PLAUDAWAY AT C0LL1NSVHLE Crack Nellor Filly Needs Only Light Work to Reach Peak. Blistered After Bucking Shins In New; Orleans Defeat Morris Accompanies String From South. COLLINSVTLLE, 111., April 15. The fleet Plaudaway, regarded as one of the outstanding two-year-olds of the country, was unloaded at the Fairmount Park track yesterday in preparation for the twenty-seven-day spring meeting getting under way Saturday, May 6. The sleek black filly by Whiskaway Applaud, by Cherokee, headed a nine-horse string shipped by Harold Nellor, whose colors will be on display at Fairmount Park for the first time, and while much interest was manifested by railbirds as Jubilee C, Skippy McGee, All Lizzie, Linter, Heidi, Justa Slave, Trim Stepper and Wild Love followed Plaudaway into their stall accommodations, the filly was the cynosure of all eyes. Plaudaway was one of the sensations of the recent New Orleans meeting. She won her first two starts in runaway fashion, setting a new quarter-mile track record of :22 in her second triumph, and went down to her lone defeat in a race in which she bucked her shins. In this race, won by E. K. Bry-sons sterling filly, Imprudent, Plaudaway finished third after being backed into odds-on favoritism. Prior to her setback, Nellor turned down an offer of 0,000 for the horse, believing he has an exceptional thoroughbred. DUE FOR EARLY START. Plaudaway was blistered following her injury in the Crescent City, and Nellor yesterday stated the filly is fully recovered and needs only a few workouts over the local strip to reach the peak of her form. He plans to start Plaudaway early in the meeting, so that local fans can take a peek at her in action. Nellors other thoroughbred, Jubilee C, is also Worthy of mention. The three-year-old won a pair of races in the Crescent City the past winter and was regarded well. enough by his owner to start in the Louisiana Derby, won by the Greehtree Stables Day Off. .Jockey Bobby Morris accompanied the stable here and will do its riding during the entire campaign. The Tiller brothers, Noble and Ed, also reached the scene yesterday. Noble brought in a half dozen, headed by the Fairmount Park favorite, Zekiel, while Ed unloaded a quintet, featured by Miss Ethel, a highly regarded juvenile, and Teperwine. With yesterdays arrivals, there are over 300 thoroughbreds already on the grounds, with additional stables due to pour in from New Orleans, Hot Springs, Kentucky, California and other points before the opening. STALL REQUESTS POUR IN. Racing secretary Dick Leigh said yesterday that all available stall space has been allotted, but still requests continue to come in, and the probem of accommodating the horsemen is the most perplexing he has faced here in a decade. "If we had three more barns, in addition to our present eighteen, we could easily fill them," said Leigh. "It goes without saying that we will have more horses here than at any previous spring meeting, around 800." Pleasing to local fans thus far is the many new stables which are already on the scene prepping for the meeting. Besides Nellor, there are here Clarence Davison, with thirteen, including Chance Ray, Masterpiece and Sanctity; L. W. Kidd, with ten, including Off Time; and the Blue Ridge Stable with seven, to be augmented after the Keeneland meeting with eight more, including the topnotchers Wise Barrister, Elooto, Lillian Roth and Chicalba. A wire was received yesterday from "But-sey" Hernandez saying his pretentious stable was en route from New Orleans. Embracing fifteen head, Hernandez boasts the speedy Prince Argo, Roidef, Bad Roll and others. Hernandez was leading owner and trainer "at the recent Crescent City campaign.
