SLATTERY NEW SENATOR Governor Horner has sent James M. Slat-terys appointment as United States Senator from Illinois, together with Slatterys qualifications for the office, to President Roosevelt and the secretary of the Senate. Slattery, who has served as chairman of this Illinois Commerce Commission, will succeed the late James Hamilton Lewis, who died last Sunday night.
