POMPOUS GENIE had much taken out of him getting into the lead and could not hold the first two. RED POWDER acted badly at the post and started slowly from outside the gate, but closed a big gap. COMPANY had his usual early speed, took a short lead turning for home, and raced fairly well to the finish. MOHAC challenged in determined fashion after turning for home, and was close up at the end.
