JOCKEY DYE RIDES FIVE WINNERS IN SUCCESSION SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 20. Apprentice Gus Dye rode five winners in succession at Tanforan, Wednesday. He is a native of Boise, Idaho, and is 19 years old. He rode his first winner at Vancouver, B. C, last summer, and is under contract to Craig Tull, Washington horseman. He won the opening race with Tea Merchant, the second with Hadage, the third with Star Stepper, the fourth with Alaakan, and the fifth with Sweep Royal. He will ride at Bay Meadows during the first two weeks of the meeting and will then accompany the E. H. Beezley string to Omaha.
