KEEPS LINDBERGH WAITING WASHINGTON, D. C, April 20. Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh was kept waiting for thirty-five minutes today in the outer offices of the White House before he was ushered into a conference with his commander-in-chief, President Roosevelt. Colonel Lindbergh, who has just gone on active duty with the United States Army Air Corps, was scheduled for a noon engagement with the Chief Executive, but the morning calling list was so heavy that the colonel was kept in the office of Brig. Gen. Edwin Watson, presidential secretary. The trans-Atlantic solo flight hero slipped into the White House in an effort to foil correspondents and cameramen. The cameramen got pictures of him when his army car was caught in a traffic jam just outside the executive mansion. In conference with the President, Colonel Lindbergh remained for about half an hour. When he emerged from the office, he was approached by a correspondent. The colonel took off his hat and smiled. "Will you answer a few questions?" the correspondent asked. Colonel Lindbergh put on his hat and shook his head. He walked down the stairs and out the side door.
