JGRAUSTARK broke swiftly to move into an easy lead, rallied stoutly after being given a breathing spell on the turn, saved ground to draw out midway of the stretch, then was shaken up strongly nearing the end. PUZZLE DANCE was hurried into contention, rac«d to the winner rounding the turn, swung wide to lose ground, then came gamely in the last eighth. WINNING MARK, a slow beginner, circled his field and closed a good gap. SOARING HIGH was prominent all the way. ARBITRAGE could not untrack himself in the fopting. KEY MAN was done after going three-eighths. MARSHALL A. and RAVENHURST were badly outrun. SUN ANTIOCH broke fast to take a short lead in the early running, met stout opposition from GOLD KNIGHTESS in the first five-eighths, stayed on the inside all the way and rallied to a vigorous drive to withstand APPREHEND. The latter, rated off the early pace, swung to the outside when placed to a drive, came to the winner midway of the stretch and just failed to got up under a strong drive. GOLD KNIGHTESS offered stout contention until rcachinc the stretch, then tired. BARGAIN BOY was ridden hard, but could not better his position. BRIGHT GEM was hinable to get into contention. HAPPY HOSTESS failed to threaten. MISS EPE was held safe. BARRACA was outrun. DIXIE S. quit after having early speed. BOLD FAY was rushed into a clear lead in the opening eighth, responded readily in the last five-sixteenths when shaken up, raced to the middle of the track and came away under pressure. MAEWHISK followed closest to the winner and moved up stoutly rounding the turn, then went to the inside of the winner for the stretch drive and finished in the worst footing. NANAHCUB was prominent from the start and held on well in the late stages. IVY X. finished gamely. ABBOTS LARK raced wide and his saddle slipped. SCORIA could not get into contention. WAUGH POP lacked speed to keep up with the leaders early, swung to the outside to gain a short lead midway of the stretch, then tired nearing the finish. DARK FRIEND was hard ridden and raced well. HIBLAZE had too much taken out of him getting to the front early and tired. MOON HARVEST could not threaten. PARVIN was used up forcing the early pace. THANKSGIVING, at home in the footing, sprinted into a clear lead on the first turn, was rated nicely while being kept in the better footing, swung very wide into the stretch, continued strongly and drew out swiftly nearing the finish. HYPOCRITE, steadied close up in the early running, rallied on the final turn, was taken wide into the stretch and held on willingly. CHALLEPHEN, lacking, speed to keep with the leaders in the early stages, finished with good energy in, the final drive. ISOLATER, racing on the inside in the first three-quarters, fell back gradually, then rallied in the late stages when sent into firmer footing. BURNING STAR broke very slowly and saved ground wherever possible, but failed to threaten. BOURBON KING had good speed to race in pursuit of the winner for three-quarters. GERALD was badly outrun. PLAYMORE, favored by good handling, was permitted to race in hand for seven-eighths, but swung to the outside when moving into contention, then gained a short lead midway of the home stretch and drew out nicely in the closing stages. CHIEF EVERGREEN, permitted to drop back going to the first turn, rallied when shaken up but was taken into the worst footing on the inside in the last five-sixteenths and labored badly nearing the end. ELLABEE was rushed hard to get to the leaders and tired after getting into a short lead at the last turn. GEMWICK was never a factor but outlasted tiring horses. CARNAGE and ALBUQUERQUE quit badly. LADY DEMOCRAT was lightly punished to get to the front going to the first turn, stalled off ALBERT D. in the first three-quarters, but was kept in the deep footing in the last five-sixteenths and tired. SPARTAN LADY worked her way into contention on the outside, but could not menace the first two. JUSTA FLIGHT closed with a belated rush. ALBERT D. failed to rally when put to a drive.
