1 SORTEADO MAY SUBSTITUTE Argentine Star Likely to Take Kayak II.s Place in the Bay Meadows Handicap on Charity Day. SAN MATEO, Calif., April 29— Sorteado, the Argentine star, may start in the Bay Meadows Handicap, headlining attraction of the Sunday Charity Day program, May 21, if plans of William P. Kyne, general manager of the San Mateo course, are successful. Kyne is attempting to line up Kayak H., Specify, Main Man, Roman Hero and other turf titans for the mile and a sixteenth engagement. Sorteado may be substituted in the event that Kayak II., which injured himself in a training accident, is unable to start. The former has been training steadily since being freshened up after the close of Santa Anita. Kyne, incidentally, will meet Monday with the publishers of four San Francisco papers, which are sponsoring the charity day, and discuss plans for ticket distribution, advertising and publicity. The entire proceeds of the charity day will „ go to the needy of the San Francisco Bay area, and it is expected that 0,000 will be made for charity on that day.
