BABY BOOTIES responded to urging after the first quarter mile, moved into command and was then taken in hand and roused again sharply in the final sixteenth to stall off the fast closing MILLTEA on the I outside. The latter showed speed from the start, faltered momentarily after the first quarter and then came again at the finish. GOLDEN RAPIER was outrun the first part, made up ground steadily, then closed gamely in close quarters between the leaders at the end. GOOSE GIRL moved up when urged in the final quarter mile, but then hung at the finish. DEBUT showed a flash of speed and then quit. FORTUNATE BOOP ran in spots and could not improve position near the finish. ATUM RE had no mishaps. HAYAM was outrun from the start. Overweight — Debut, 1 pound; Goose Girl, 1. ONE ROUND jumped well from the start and, under steady restraint, moved up with determination on the outside after taking the eleventh fence, responded in the stretch, disposed of SHIP EXECUTIVE and then drew away. The latter forced the pace from the start, moved into command after taking the ninth fence and then held on gamely until the final seventy yards. RIDEAWAY refused to break with his field and was away slowly. He improved his position steadily and showed a good effort. EDILE jumped well and had no mishaps in the running. THE IMMORTAL II. showed early speed, made a bad landing at the fourth fence and tired steadily thereafter. THIRD RACE 4 1-2 FURLONGS Widener Course. WOOF WOOF raced close to the pace from the start, was placed under severe pressure in the final eighth and raced SEASONAL into defeat, drawing away at the end. WILLIAMSTOWN worked his way up on the inside, made a determined bid in the final eighth and then hung at the finish. STAGEFRIGHT closed ground steadily at the finish. EPATANT raced greenly and came through on the inside at the end. ASP raced greenly and showed a good effort. SEASONAL broke from outside the stalls and showed early speed. GRAMPS raced well all the way. DEVILS CRAG showed a good effort. IN CHARGE raced evenly throughout. TOLA ROSE, fractious at the post, showed early speed. PRINCE WAYGO showed an even effort from the start. QUAROMA raced greenly. BLUE UNIFORM began slowly. The others-raced greenly throughout. Scratched— Conscript, 117; Princely Gift, 117; Rollo, 117. The latter dwelt slightly at the start, was rushed up fast into command, saved ground and then tired from early efforts. CHARLOTTE GIRL showed a good effort all the way and finished well. DESPONDENT lacked early speed and made up ground in the stretch run. MISS BRIEF faltered steadily in the stretch run. BLUE FAIRY lacked speed and was never a factor. CHIEF ONA WAY moved up when urged rounding the far turn, but could not menace the leaders in the stretch run. EXPLODED dropped back after the start, was placed under severe pressure rounding the far turn and made up some ground slowly at the end. OVERSIGHT had no mishaps in the running. The latter was well up all the way, pinched back ncaring the far turn, came to the outside, assumed command in the stretch and then hung in the final strides. TOW ROPE was rated along under steady restraint and had no mishaps in the running. MONEY MUDDLE moved up fast on the inside rounding the far turn and then quit. LAUERMAN had no mishaps in the running. EVEN UP closed some ground. INTERPRETER had no mishai s. SUNCRAX quit badly. WESTBROOKE was never a factor. LADY BETH YL* raced wide at the stretch turn.
