G. Tumin; bred by Mr. J. E. Widenei. Winner entered to be claimed for ,600. WENT TO POST— 5:58. AT POST— 2 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. MANTAGNA, breaking from outside the stalls, was slow to settle in stride, bettered his position on the outside in the last half mile*, caught IDLE ELF and came out under a drive in the last eighth. IN MEMORY, reserved off the earjy pace, responded gamely when placed to a drive and finished stoutly in the last five-sixteenths. IDLE ELF was made entirely too much use of getting into a short lead and could not stay when the final issue came. BIT BY BIT, shuffled back going to the first turn, closed with good speed in the last half mile when clear. GRAND DUKE could not get to the front and was used up forcing the pace. MON DOIT was forced to lose ground to improve his position after a slow beginning. ODDESA LAD made a strong bid at the final turn on the inside, then tired. ARMENIDAS raced well for seven-eighths. CHIMNEY TOP is inconsistent and raced poorly.
