HARDY MISS, away tardily, had a lot of speed to race up into a contending position- in the first quarter mile, displaced BREAKING WAVES readily, opened up a wide lead- when reaching the stretch and held sway to the end. RACE RIDER was close up from the beginning, saved ground, but could not threaten the winner. LADY MOWLEE improved her position steadily after settling into stride. HAZEL W. passed tiring horses in the late stages. MARIYAH had good speed early, but could not keep up when the real test came. DISRAELI broke well, but had no speed. CANTERUP was away poorly and was unable to menace. BREAKING WAVES tired fast after showing early speed. MOUNTAIN ECHO showed a flash of speed after the start. • Scratched— 73656 Aster Lady. 115. DISTRACT, caught in close quarters after the start, luckily found racing room between horses early to improve his position, stole through on the inside when reaching the stretch, finished determinedly and was up in the last fifty yards. GRAEME CRACKER disposed of JAMES PAL leaving the back stretch, was hurried to draw clear, but could not withstand the winner under punishment. NIGHT . PLAY, forced to race very wide cn the back stretch, went to the leaders readily, but had too much taken out of him early and tired in the stretch drive. KAI-MIN was prominent and raced well. MAN AT ARMS raced wide. JAMES PAL was under strong pressure all the way. CAIDON could not tlireaten. READY-ABOUT had a rough trip. WAY OUT was done after going a half mile. LITTLE WOMAN, going strongly for the first mile, displaced SWIMALONG at the ninth fence opened up a clear lead and distanced WALKAWAY when LITTLE DAN fell at the last jump-while in nearest pursuit. WALKAWAY had no speed at any stage and trailed far back all the way. LITTLE DAN, re- strained for a turn of the field, challenged stoutly rounding the final turn, but fell at the last jump He was remounted to finish in the time limit for third. SWIMALONG was overhauled after going one mile and fell at the twelfth jump. QUAKERSTREET was taken very wide over the first three jumps and lost her rider at the fourth fence. SKYFLIER, steadied alongside BEACON ROCK for tlic first three-quarters, moved to the front rearing the stretch, opened up a long lead and continued strongly to draw out at the finish. BALLOTER broke swiftly, but fell back badly in the first sixteenth, moved to the outside when settled in the back stretch, made a weak bid under punishment on the final turn, then was held safe at the close. BEACON ROCK was unable to get clear while setting the pace and tired fast when caught. TANGANYIKA fell back early, then failed to rally. ROBESPIERRE had a rough trip going to the first turn, then was held safe when put to a drive. PRADIS was also in trouble going to the first turn and could not threaten. COCKEREL had good speed to race close to the leaders early, rallied gamely when shaken up nearing the stretch, bore toward the inside when engaged with NOW WHAT midway of the stretch and drew out slowly after gaining a short lead inside the last sixteenth. NOW WHAT displayed high speed to move clear soon after the start, saved ground and held on gamely while being crowded during the closing eighth. IMPRUDENT was weakly ridden in the early racing, fell back on the turn, then was taken to the outside irt the final drive after racing on the inside early. RED GLARE,- under light restraint in the early running, raced to the pacemaker atthe turn out of the back stretch, gained the lead midway of the stretch and had enough in reserve to withstand SAN ANTIOCA. The latter, rated off the early pace, was taken wide when improving her position and finished gamely under punishment in the final drive. RED JACK was steadied after getting to the front, saved ground all the way, but failed to rally when placed to a vigorous drive. CAREFUL MISS tired steadily after going three-quarters.
