BELMONTS DUAL ATTRACTIONS Fashion Stakes and Swift Stakes Headline First Saturday Card. Swift Stakes Attracts Field of High-Class Sprinters — Ten Two-Year-Old Fillies Entered in Co-Feature. NEW YORK, N. Y., May 12.— Juvenile fillies to race in the four and one-half furlongs of the Fashion Stakes, „and three-year-olds to race seven furlongs in the Swift Stakes, are the twin features for the first Saturday of the Belmont Park meeting. The Fashion t . Stakes, which is over the Widener course, is of ,000 added and, with ten named to go to the post, it will gross ,000. The Swift . Stakes, run over the main course, is of ,500 1 added and, should all thirteen that have been named go to the post, it will gross ,775. There were some more notable nominees i for the Swift Stakes than will appear under silks, one of" these being William Woodwards ■ Johnstown, which will be more profitably employed in the 0,000 Preakness at ; Pimlico, and another is his stablemate, , Gilded Knight, from the Wheatley Stable.
