ENGLAND AND TURKEY AGEEE LONDON, England, May 12.— Great Britain and Turkey have agreed upon mutual aid and cooperation in event of any act of agression leading to war in the Mediterranean area, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain told the House of Commons today. "Great Britain and Turkey," Chamberlain said, "will conclude a definitive agreement extending over a long period. It will be reciproca-tive in character and framed in the interests of the national security of both nations." Chamberlains announcement was interpreted as meaning that, for the present at least, Britain had succeeded in outdistancing Germany in a dramatic race for Turkey support in the frenzied diplomatic .negotiations now under way in Europe.
