, • EIGHT IN FAIRMOUNT FEATURE Brooklyn Club Handicap to Be Run Over One Mile Distance. Fast Move, Winner of Inaugural Handicap, Top Weight of Field— Chance Ray and Masterpiece Bun as Entry. COLLINSVTLLE, 111., May 12 —Fast Move, C. E. Deahls flashy campaigner, which turned back Professor Paul, Prince Argo and six others in winning the opening day Inaugural Handicap at Fairmount Park last Saturday, has a harder task before him in attempting to add to his list of victories the Brooklyn Club Handicap, fashioned for three-year-olds and older, which will be presented at the local course on Saturdays program of eight races. In the piece de resistance, carded sixth on the program, Fast Move, which has been assigned the top impost of 115 pounds, will attempt to prove his superiority over Masterpiece, a winner of three races this year; Brown Ben, which was a winner at Miami during the winter racing season; Chance Ray, the C. E. Davison star, and four others which will vie for the winners share of the ,200 purse. The event is to be decided over a mile distance. DAVISON ENTRY FAVORED. It is probable that the C. E. Davison entry of Masterpiece and Chance Ray may give a victorious account of themselves. The lengthening of Saturdays feature to a mile, a quarter of a mile farther than the distance for the opening day Inaugural Handicap, may prove the necessary factor in bringing to triumph to the Davison stable. In the running of last Saturdays main event Chance Ray appeared slow to get started, but on approaching the turn for the run to the finish the seven-year-old son of Chance Play— Ex Ray straightened out and was charging fast and gamely in the closing stages. Besides the feature the program is made up of seven other events which should furnish exciting sport. There are four distance affairs carded, which always prove popular with the fans, and four sprint events listed. With a continuation of the brisk weather conditions, the sweep of the winds should dry out the track considerably and make the course fast for the half-holiday card.
