SALLAN CUP HEADL1NER Fifth Renewal of Detroit Feature — Eight in Overnight Field. Coughing Epidemic Cuts Number of Probable Starters — Undefeated Domkin Top Weight With 119. DETROIT, Mich., June 16.— The Sallan Cup Handicap, fifth stake of the Detroit t spring and summer season, will have its fifth i running as the feature of tomorrows program. ; Since its inception as a distance affair for older performers the stake has been one of the leading fixtures of the fall i season and this year is one of three features ■ devoted to juveniles. The St. Clair Stakes has been decided, and the Moslem Temple Stakes will be run July 4. Eight two-year-olds representing six different - interest were named for the five furlongs | dash, a coughing epidemic preventing a larger field accepting from among the fourteen eligibles. Although the chief interest will center on the Sallan Cup Handicap, a very attractive program supports it, and as a whole the card is one of the best arranged during the current meeting. Domkin, undefeated in his three starts and winner of the St. Clair Stakes, will carry the top impost of 119 pounds. This is six pounds more than he packed in his stakes triumph, but he won the race with such ease e that the Ladkin offspring is sure to be a well-backed choice. GEORGE ENTRY, R. B. George, who races under the nom de course of Gladacres Farm, will be represented by the home-breds Joe Greenock and Sir Greenock. Winners at New Orleans, the sons of Greenock have enjoyed local competition and will carry 112 and 111 pounds, respectively. Enrique Rodriguez, one of the best juvenile riders here, will be astride Sir Greenock, and Joe Greenock will be intrusted to the veteran Rooert Tilden. Jungle Moon, Flash Flash and Ortaisi, trained by Charles Ferguson, comprise another entry. Jungle Moon and Flash Flash are the property of A. L. Ferguson, and Ortaisi flaunts the banner of Clarence and Frazer LeBus. Jungle Moon was narrowly beaten in his first start and then came back to win in hollow fashion. Flash Flash has won both her starts, the first at Keeneland and the other here recently. Ortaisi made her debut a winning one. In the event of an adverse track Ortaisi Will not start and, should the track be fast, only Jungle Moon will represent A. L. Ferguson. By the scale, racing secretary Charles F. r.1 Henry thinks the most of Ortaisi, the daughter ■ of The Porter being asked to pack 109 pounds, and Flash Flash, also a filly, will j tote 108. Jungle Moons assignment is 110 g pounds. IMPRESSIVE RACES. What Fun, the hope of J. W. Barnes, local 1 owner, arrived here from North Randall, and j Hi Gold, the other entrant, has shown very impressively in his two local starts.
