• NORTH RANDALLS BEST RACE Cleveland Handicap Brings Together Best Horses at Track — Route Contest Last on Card. CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 16.— Probably , the finest race of the North Randall meeting j will be run here Saturday, when nine thor- 1 oughbreds get off in the initial running of the ,500 added Cleveland Handicap. Carded as the sixth race, it will likely find M. J. Schmitts Sortie Star, top weighted at 1 117 pounds, the favorite, with Smith G. I Baker, Sr.s Janice and Stockett and Morgans I Blue Trace receiving the next most consid-I eration. Each of the latter two have been assigned a 110-pound burden for the mile and I a sixteenth event. I Having defeated her here last Saturday, ! Sortie Star will have his second encounter of the meeting with the fleet Janice, a good j winner here. Blue Trace, a three-year-old, j was also a winner here last Saturday, scor- i ing in the featured Cleveland Press Handi-i cap. Saunderstown, Blue Fang, Brown Ben, High One, Sky Ball and Pompeys Pillar are the others entered in the Cleveland Handicap. Finale race on Saturdays card, the eighth, will be the first mile and one-half event of j the meeting. It will bring together twelve ! platers.
