The features of the week-: end program are the Calumet Handicap, a sprint of six furlongs, and the Marquette Handicap, a race of a mile and a furlong, and both of them =,drew s drew good good fields. fields. Manie Manie OHara, OHara, =,drew drew good good fields. fields. Manie Manie OHara, OHara, which has captured two stakes at this meeting, is eligible for both of tomorrows topline events, while Silverette has been named for the Calumet and Dellor and Her Reigh for the Marquette. Manie OHara, which races for the partnership of Hyman Friedberg and Edwin Axton, has both the Kankakee and Steger Handicaps to her credit, while Silverette, owned by Garrett Watts, won the Crete Handicap in her only public appearance of the season. Dellor, the property of James W. Parrish, distinguished himself by winning the Francis H. Peabody Memorial Handicap and Her Reigh, the representative of William Maloney, joined the local stakes winners by accounting for the La Salle Handicap. CALUMET DRAWS LARGE FIELD. The shorter Calumet drew the larger field and among those scheduled to take part in it, besides Silverette and perhaps Manie OHara, are Finance, Melodist, Tiger, The Fighter, Mucho Gusto, Kings Blue, Opera Star and Talked About. Mucho Gusto, if he is among those which parade to the post, will be returning to competition after a long vacation. Annually he is one of the steadiest handicap performers in the country, and his connections report him about ready to resume campaigning. His appearance in tomorrows starting line-up would lend much color to the Calumet Handicap, which even without him stacks up as one of the best sprints offered here this meeting. Silverette must shoulder top weight in this event, 119 pounds, and it is not unlikely that she will rule favorite, this impost notwithstanding. FITTING COMPANION PIECE. The Marquette Handicap also should serve as a fitting companion piece for the Calumet, for even if it does engage a smaller field, the horses in it are well matched. In addition to Her Reigh, Dellor and, again possibly, Manie OHara, the field includes the names of Chance Ray, Burning Star, Some Count and Dolly Val. Dellor is the top weight here, under 123 pounds. A suitable supporting card has been arranged and if the weather remains fair, as it was when entries closed, and the track Continued on thirty-ninth page.
