WATER CRACKER broke fast and clear, displayed a lot of speed to set the pace, saved ground, was kept under strong urging and outstayed WINGED HOOFS. The latter was closest to the winner from the start, was placed to punishment in the stretch drive, but failed to menace the winner. POMIVA was prominent under stout pressure and continued gamely to the finish. BELL CHIMES, held a forward position from the start and showed a good effort. BIG FLASH, a slow breaker, closed resolutely and finished in a dead heat with BELL CHIMES. TITILATOR could not enter contention. DISRAELI could not keep up. GOLDEN LASS was outrun. MAECHANCE had good speed from the start, was displaced briefly at the turn, returned to the front entering the stretch and had enoueh in reserve to withstand MACS CANTOR. The latter worked his way up between horses and finished with good speed. STREAMER was forced to race on the outside and showed a good effort. SPANKED was rushed off his feet to get to the front and had little left when the real test came. STEPINFRED was unable to get into a forward position. QUEEN TEDDY tired after a half mile. PAPER MAKER, under steadyine restraint for the first mile, was knocked off stride at the eighth fence when sent up on the heels of SKIMALONG, raced close up, then was taken to the outside nearing the fourteenth fence, moved into the lead at the final jump, crossed over on SKIMALONG and came out gradually. SKIMALONG was taken to the front at once, made a bad landing at the eighth fence and recovered, but could not withstand the winner in the closing drive. SAILORS KNOT messed about for the first mile, then outstayed tiring horses in the late stages. BRIAR BLUE went wide and could not menace. CALCULATE almost unseated his rider at the tenth fence, then fell back. JOHN BROOM refused at the last fence. LATERAL PASS lost his rider at the third jump. Scratched— 76006 Quakerstreet, 137. GIBOIR handled his weieht well, could not get clear while setting the pace, saved ground and held on tenaciously to the finish. LOTTERY raced well placed and finished with eood enere. MODERN AGE raced prominently and had no mishaps. MISS GINO could not menace. ROSEPILLAR raced in dull fashion. DOROTHY POMP could not keep up. Ths latter worked her way forward on the outside, made a strone bid at the final turn, then held on well. CAREFUL MISS was eased back off the early pace and raced in hand to the turn for home, then was shaken up to finish strongly. BRANDON PRINCE, allowed to gain his best stride, raced to the leaders rapidly nearing the final turn, but made his run too early and tired in the final drive. MAPLE RICCA was well up for three-quarters, then tired in the last five-sixteenths. SHALAKO could not enter contention. MAY BOY was used up racing with the leaders early. SQUABBLE was rated in front, but could not stay when the real test came. CASCAPEDIA, well up for the first seven eighths, tired in the final drive and pulled up lame. SICKLE LASS had no mishaps.
