MILLION BUCKS, rushed into command on the inside, drew out easily on the turn, maintained his advantaee under much pressure after reaching the final eighth and had little left. WOWO, on the inside throughout, bettered her position gradually until the final eighth, where she did not threaten the winner. VELVET MASK began fast and had speed, bore out badly on the turn, raced wide under strong pressure the final quarter and barely lasted to lead BROADKILL. The latter, fractious at the post and away poorly, was far back for a half mile and, closing well on the outside, might have been third in another stride. CHARMED ONE was under energetic riding from the start and did not keep up under increased pressure in the stretch. SNUGGLED IN quit badly after three eighths. » , f - SECOND RACE S»4 MILK. Our Crest. GOSHEN, fractious at the post, but away fast, was racing close up when forced back soon after reaching Hie turn, recovered quickly and, closing with determination, got to NIGHT BANDIT in the last sixteenth and shook him off in the final fifty yards. NIGHT BANDIT, a strong factor from the start, raced in hand lor a half mile and hung on well after taking command, but could not withstand the winner. AGOTARAS, taken back reepatodly for a half mile, raced between horses in the stretch, where he closed veil on his own courage. EL JUEZ displayed the most speed from the start, saved ground throughout, but began to falter soon after reaching the stretch. BOBBIN fell back suddenly. on the turn, came again weakly soon after entering the stretch, but again gave way in the last three sixteenths. Scratched— 74S34 Fore, 120; 64547 Sought After, 114. CHICHARRA, never a great distance back and taken out from the rail after a quarter, was kept under a snug hold until the final quarter, responded well to light urging and, wearing down VIRAGIN, was drawing " out at the end. VIRAGIN alternated in the early pacemaking under light restraint, took a good lead d quickly as EUNEVA began to falter entering the stretch and held on well, but was not good enough. MR. 1. AMBASSADOR raced prominently from the start and dropped back under punishment soon after entering the 10 stretch, but came again to overtake EUNEVA and CORN FIF.LD in the final fifty yards. EUNEVA tired d after showing speed to the stretch. CORN FIELD quit. EXVOLO was never a real factor. SHASTA A PLUCKY was outrun. I Scratched— 76198Finella. 113: 75538 Indian Silk, 105. SAN-MONICA, taken in hand after racing into command in the first three-sixteenths, crossed to the ,e Inside on the stretch turn, came out in the final quarter and, holding on well under strong handling, held Id HURRIGAL safe. The latter, away fast, but unable to hold the advantage, had to be eased slightly as " SAN MONICA came over on the turn, could not improve her position under stout urging in the stretch, yet held the others safe. DAY GO-BYE, a factor from the start, bore out slightly on the turn, was taken m to the inside in the stretch and tired sharply near the end. WILLIE J. had no mishaps. ISOLENE, a difficult horse to handle and always under a good hold, worked her way up gradually, swerved badly after getting to the front and, after crowding back FROZEN MASK, impeded ALUP, then outstayed the latter, but was disqualified for fouling. ALUP, a sharp factor from the start and on the inside throughout, responded to mild pressure in the stretch, was racing well when impeded entering the final eighth and held on well when clear. VALDINA, away fast but unable to keep up, was slow to respond to pressure, rallied in the last three-sixteenths, where he was on the extreme outside and was slowly overtaking the leaders. FROZEN MASK had goo" speed from the start, was placed to strong urging after a half mile and was tiring when forced back in the stretch. JOSH began slowly. OGALLAH. on the inside early and taken under light restraint after reaching the turn, came out in the stretch and, shaking off BROOMIAN and LITTLE RULER, held VALDINA BABE safe to win with something left. VALDINA BABE, close up early, dropped back slightly on the stretch turn, went to the inside in the final quarter and closed with determination in a good effort. LITTLE RULER, fractious at the post and away slowly, raced wide throughout and tired after making a bid in the stretch, but outstayed BROOMIAN. BROOMIAN had speed from the start, was under a mild drive after three-eighths and tired in the late stasres. UPRISING raced wide early and was taken to the inside in the stretch, but did not threaten. LISCO was carried out by DEEBA and had no chance thereafter. CANTRIP made the pate under good rating, swerved when plated to punishment soon after reathing the stretth, quitkly gave way to SURCOUF, yet held 011 fairly well to the end. CARL B. dropped back when ratine very wide on the second turn, moved up boldly in the stretch, but hung in the closing strides. MARIOI.ET rated prominently from the start, but tired when put to a drive. WITTY LASS quit badly. CRIMSON was badly outrun. ONYOLRWAY made the pace under a snug hold, was put to pressure when challenged on the seeond turn and held on fairly well. DORMIDO lacked early speed, began to improve her position after five-eighths and finished gamely. ORBEDLU, outrun early, was hard hustled after three-quarters, but could not threaten. REIGH BEGOE tired after three quarters. MR. MACK bled. Scratched- 75823 High Man, 105. Overweight — Stormy Ocean. 4 pounds.
