DETROIT OWNERS VICTORIOUS Yellow Tulip Wins at Delaware Park for Bohn and Markey. Second Victory in Six Starts for Aged Racer — Jockey Leo Fallon Astride First Winning Mount. STANTON, Del., June 16.— Yellow Tulip, chestnut horse from the Bomar Stable of Messrs. Bohn and Markey, turned in his second victory in six starts this year. He registered a front-running and popular success when he accounted for the fifth race that served as the best offering on the featureless program that ended the first half of the Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association meeting at Stanton today. Yellow Tulip took the measure of A. C. Stables Lady Roma after leading from end to end, while a head away Baby Talk, from the Dewey Bentham barn, defeated Careful Miss, Golden Vein and Portunus, the only others that met. Yellow Tulip was installed a strong choice for the abbreviated journey and it marked the first saddle success here for jockey Leo Fallon when he had the elderly horse winner by little more than one length. ALL CLAIMING RACES. With the program made up entirely of claiming races, with the exception of the juvenile dash listed first on the card, and no feature down for decision the crowd was a light one. Hot weather prevailed and the scorching heat kept those on hand under the shelter of the stand and trees. In the race accounted for by Yellow Tulip a four and a half minute delay occurred at the stalls before the half dozen left on their journey. The Bomar Stable horse was first from the gate and he was pulling jockey L. Fallon out of the saddle as he set a brisk pace early. He was followed down the far side of the track by Lady Roma, while Careful Miss barely held to third place before Golden Vein and Baby Talk. With six furlongs covered, Yellow Tulip was still racing clear of his company and he went to the final turn smoothly just as Baby Talk came up from fifth place to offer a mild threat. Sensing the move, Fallon permitted Yellow Tulip to quicken his pace and he bounded into a lead of three lengths midway on the back stretch, then had something in reserve as he was eased up at the again to outfinish Baby Talk for the place. Golden Vein cut little figure in the running close. Lady Roma, holding on gamely, came under a listless ride. A ■
