Jockey Willie Root was another of the riding brigade who shoved off for the Northwest. His destination was Vancouver, B. C. Tall Oak, one of the horses E. H. Beezley | has here for Joseph Cohen, was badly cut about the chest after his fall in the fourth race Tuesday. It was necessary to take six , stitches to close the wound. Jockey Ned Merritt was none the worse for his experience when he fell from Tall Oak, and was able to fill his engagement in the fifth race, which he won with All Lizzie. Trainer E. H. Beezley disposed of another of his horses when he sold the aged Davidor to E. N. Osborne, who turned the horse over to H. A. Vance, who will direct his con- ditioning for future engagements. Terms of the transaction were private. •
