SEA CADET HANDY WINNER Scores in Little Saratoga Handicap at Dufferin Park — Big Crowd on Hand for Program. TORONTO, Ont., June 21.— Sea Cadet, home-bred Marine — Rolo gelding racing for W. T. Raines, proved a handy victor in the Little Saratoga Handicap, mid-week feature of the Dufferin Park meeting. Ridden by G. Rose and displaying his brilliant early speed, the Raines gelding saved ground on the first turn and, taking the lead, held a two and one-half lengths advantage before J. R. Mclntyres Equerry at the end of the about five furlongs distance. Golden Silence, from the Erindale Stable, raced to third place, half a length back and half a length in advance of C. Smythes Try Hard. ■ A large crowd was on hand for the sport, with the track at its best. There was little delay at the start and starter Rowe sent them away in perfect alignment. Bobs First broke in the lead, followed by Golden Silence, Big Fish and Sea Cadet. In the drive for positions to the first turn the seven raced head-and-head past the stand, and it was apparent that one must give way at the first turn. Heading into the turn Sea Cadet, on the inside, saved ground, as did Bobs First, Golden Silence and Big Fish. Equerry went slightly wide, while Try Hard and Irenes Bob were carried extremely wide and had to be taken up. When they straightened out in the back stretch Sea Cad«t drew clear, while Golden Silence raced a head in advance of Big Fish. Sea Cadet was steadied along through the back stretch while Equerry and Try Hard were rushed up to contention. Leaving the back stretch Rose called on the Raines Colorbearer and he increased his lead and continued to widen the gap to the end. Equerry worked his way forward and in the drive outfinished Golden Silence for second place, while Try Hard came from far back to finish in fourth position.
