SKY CLOUD took command with a rush from a fast beginning, quickly increased his advantage following a brisk rousing after reaching the final quarter and tired in the last eighth, but held the race safe. SILVER BRAID was a prominent factor from the start, saved ground and tired after wearing down FAIR SO jn the last eighth, but outstayed the latter. FAIR SO was in hand for a half mile, did not rally when shaken up. but held on well after succumbing to SILVER BRAID and was getting to the latter in the closing strides. STAR BESS dropped back after about three sixteenths, also failed to hold her position on the turn, came out in the stretch and closed well. DARK SEEKER raced wide after the first quarter, was Tinder energetic riding after three-eighths and hung on fairly well. SUN ERIN could not keep up. Ovrrweight — Lady Velvet, lj pounds. AH LINE, fractious at the post, began well, hut failed to keep up, was taken to the outside after reaching the turn, closed with determination under strong riding and, wearing down the leaders, drew clear in the closing strides. SHINE O NIGHT, also rank at the post, broke well and forred the early pace Tinder light restraint, stood a drive gamely, but was not good enough. HAZEL LEE. away slowly, bore out on the turn, remained far back to the stretch, then came with a ruc-h in a splendid effort. FETCHET lost much ground in his good performance. QLESTRE raced prominently from the start, but tired in the late stages. SUNNY SWEDE, fractious at the post, showed speed under hustling tactics, but quit badly in the last eighth. MERRY PETE took command with a rush, was steadied around the turn, came out slightly in the stretch and aluas held ADA W. safe, but was ridden out. ADA W., forced to raced wide throughout and a strong contender from the start, rallied only mildly in the stretch and tired near the end. SWEEPING WIND, slow to respond to igorous riding and raced wide, swerved soon after reaching the stretch, rallied when straight in the last eighth and wore down FROZEN MASK in the last few strides. The latter was in close quarters early, could not improve her position when clear and tired in the drive. ITO had no mishaps. ISOLENE, away slowly and lucky to secure room on the inside as she moved up rapidly in the openlpg quirter, was taken in hand on the turn, swerved while coming away in the stretch and was again taken in hand in the last fifty yards. CARACOLE swerved out shortly after the start, was widely outrun by the leaders for five eighths, but held on well and overtook GRAY ETHEL in the last seventy yards. GRAY ETHEL had speed from the start, raced a trifle wide throughout and tired in the last three-sixteenths. ONYOURWAY held on gamely. MEMORY CHAIR quit. LEGAL ADVICE showed a poor effort. SPORTS WRITER, on the outside eariy, was taken to the inside on the turn, raced gamely under strong riding in the final quarter, disposed of BROKEN PIECES before reaching the last sixteenth and continued well to the finish. BROKEN PIECES received a hustling ride, raced wide and began to falter before reaching the last eighth. SLAVIC held on well. SYRACUSE quit after showing fair speed to the stretch. ALLDENA was outrun. JAYFCEE, away fast and having good speed, cut out the pace under restraint to the stretch, responded when tailed upon and, after opening up a safe margin, was taken in hand in the last fifty yards, winning with speed in reserve. RISENFLY, well up from the start and on the inside throughout, was under stout urging after a half mile, tired after wearing down KING COTTON, but held CHI safe. The latter, away fast, stumbled badly shortly after the start, was taken to the inside in the first quarter, did not rally to light urging on the turn, but came with a rush in the stretch and finished fastest of all. KING COTTON, nicely in hand for three-eighths, continued gamely under pressure to the last three-sixteenths and there gave way slowly. WEISENHEIMER, away in a tangle, was sent to contention gradually, but tired 111 the stretch. OURS tired badly. Overweight — Risenfly, 1 pound; Blazearound, 1; Stay Out, 1. WINDSHIELD made an easy pace to the stretch, gamely stood off the challenge of MAYRO when approaching the final eighth and was not endangered thereafter. MAYRO, raced wide from the start and reserved off the pace, bettered her position gradually when ready, could not get to the winner, then held on weli and, but for swerving in the last eighth, might have finished closer up. MOLASSES BOB, well up early and kept on the inside for three quarters, dropped back suddenly on the stretch turn and tired after a mild rally nearing the last eighth, but outstayed KING CARL. KING CARL was blocked leaving the back stretch as his rider kept him on the inside and dropped farther back on the stretch turn, but closed fairly well. GETALONG quit badlv.
