LINCOLN HANDICAP SATURDAY , I Half-Holiday Program Will Be Final I of Crete Meeting. ] Horsemen Beginning to Transfer Stables to I Other Points — Mucho Gusto and Chance Ray Named. CRETE, 111., June 21.— While the ,500 I added Lincoln Handicap will headline the ! final program of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club next Saturday, that race will not be the only attractive contest designed for the entertainment of the half-holiday crowd. | The program which brings to a close Lin- 1 1 coin Fields twenty-seven-day spring meet- 1 ing includes three other events which should do their part toward drawing a large at 1 tendance to the popular Southside course. One of the supporting races is a condi- ; tion affair at six furlongs, for older horses, and another is a similar event at five fur- . longs for two-year-olds. These two races, j along with the stake which is to be contested at a mile and a sixteenth, should bring into competition many of the best | j horses on the grounds. Horsemen are beginning to transfer their charges to other points, but a sufficient number are remaining to assure a high class , program for the last days sport. TWELFTH RUNNING. The Lincoln Handicap will be run Satur- ] day for the twelfth time and among those j scheduled to take part in it are two previous winners of the race, Ramsey and Coppages , Mucho Gusto and C. E. Davisons Chance , Ray. Mucho Gusto won the stake in 1936, and finished second to Chance Ray in last years running. J. W. Parrishs Dellor, which accounted for the Lincoln in 1937. also was nominated for Saturdays renewal, I but he suffered fatal injuries in the running 1 of the Marquette Handicap here last Satur- I day. 1 Much interest in this week-ends stake will be attached to the efforts of Friedberg and Axtons Manie OHara to add another feature victory to her local success. Manie OHara won two stakes by herself and fin- ] ished in a dead heat with William Maloneys Her Reigh in another. Her Reigh is also expected to be found among the starters in Saturdays race.
