BERNARD F. IN GOOD WORKOUT Gallops Seven-Eighths in 1:29 at Detroit in Preparation for the Cadillac Handicap on Saturday. DETROIT, Mich., June 21.— Working alone and without blinker equipment, Bernard F., sterling handicap performer in the I. J. Collins stable, was breezed seven-eighths of a mile this morning at the local track in preparation for his engagement in the Cadillac Handicap, ,500 added feature on the program next Saturday. Bernard F., well in hand throughout his work, went the first quarter in :25, the half in :50*i, six furlongs in 1:16 and finished out the seven-eighths in 1:29. Trainer Al Miller was impressed with the manner in which the five-year-old son of Sun God II.— Miss Lillian went through the trial. Jessie Spencers Our Willie and the locally-owned Siam, which races for the Bomar Stable, also had useful preps for the Cadillac. The latter went eight furlongs in 1:43, while Our Willie turned the mile distance in 1:43!5. The fractions for the Spencer representative were: :25, :5075, 1:16. Siam loafed during the early part of his trial, going the opening quarter in :26, the half mile in :53 and the six furlongs in 1:17%. Frontier, another nominee for the same stake, was breezed six furlongs in 1:16, the quarter was traversed in :25as and the half mile in :51. «
