Daily, With Exception of Saturdays and Fourth of July. CRETE, 111., June 21.— Latonia Is to have ! twilight racing for its summer meeting, be- ginning June 29, it was announced here today by Col. Matt J. Winn, president of the American Turf Association. Colonel Winn i and his associates arrived at this decision i today after considering the probable popularity of such racing in the Greater Cincin- nati area and after hearing reports of the I success of similar sport at the Detroit Fair r Grounds and at North Randall. Colonel Winn said that twilight racing I would be conducted daily except Saturdays s . and July 4, and that these programs would i start at 4:30 p. m. The Saturday and July 4 i 1 cards will be started at 2:15 p. m. LAST RACE 7:30. Under a schedule arranged for Latonia, ., | the last event on the eight-race program will 1 be over in time so that fans can be on their r I I way out of the track by 7:30 p. m., or well 1 | | before nightfall. Twilight racing will have e MM important advantage to fans, for it will !1 start late enough in the day to miss much i of the hottest part of the afternoon. In preparation for evening racing, Latonia a is enlarging its dining room in the club-3 - house, and installing a new restaurant and I i I cafeteria in the grandstand to provide for r guests who wish to dine at the track. I Colonel Winn also said that popularly-priced I meals would be served in the two rooms. Lights are being installed wherever neces- - I sary on the grounds, and the parking enclos- i- I i ures also are being wired for electricity. I Twilight racing has proved a boon to the * | ■port at Detroit, where daily programs now v ; are offered in the evenings, and business at t j j North Randall also has picked up materially y since the introduction of the policy. 1 I
