YONKERS HANDICAP TODAY ,500 Added Event Attracts Eight, Headed by Isolater. Wakefield Handicap to Serve as Supporting Attraction AL Previous Attendance Records Shattered. EMPIRE CITY, N. Y., July 28. The most successful summer meeting in the history of the Empire City Racing Association comes to a close Saturday afternoon with the running of a double stake program, headed by the Yonkers Handicap and with the Wakefield Handicap the principal supporting attraction. Aided by remarkable breaks in the weather, the twenty-four day session at the Butler grounds has shattered all previous attendance marks produced four, new track records, and provided a higher grade of sport than in many seasons. Form, except in a few cases, has been well observed, all of which must have had considerable to do with the increased patronage. Present indications point to clear skies for the final days competition, though it is improbable that the racing oval will be at its best in spite of the recent rains. ISOLATER FAVORED. The Yonkers Handicap, a mile and a six-i teenth test which carries an endowment of i ,500, has drawn eight overnight entrants and there seems slight chance that any of this lot will default. Best regarded of the octet is the Belair Studs Isolater, which turned in a smashing effort one week back when he lost a neck decision to Lovely Night in the considerably richer Butler Handicap. That was the first start since the Dixie in early May for the Blandford six-year-old and it is the consensus that he was just a trifle shy on condition. Jack Campbell has asked Isolater to pick up eight pounds in the final feature but "due to recent improvement this should not prove beyond his powers. He worked a handy mile in 1:40 over the track in his extended final and there will be a shift from Malley to Stout. The veteran shapes up as a natural choice for the event. HE DID DANGEROUS. He Did, whose stablemate, Roman Flag, will be battling for heavier money in the Arlington Futurity a trifle later in the afternoon, looms forth as the one William Woodwards representative will have" to defeat. While the latter has shown his best form over sprinting distances, it is worthy of note that he turned in a handy mile effort in the Metropolitan Handicap, where he may have been best.
