NANCIS BEST was a stout contender from the beginning and finished steadily on the outside. MOLASSES JULIA was squeezed back slightly rounding the turn , while on the inside, rallied gamely when obtaining racing room along the rail during the stretch drive and finished gamely. PAPER GIRL, fractious at the gate, raced stoutly for a half mile, then tired. STINGY LADY could not reach the leaders. BRIERLEY lost ground and failed to menace. HENORA was never a threat. I PALKIN was rushed hard to got to the front early, set a good pace in the early racing, stalled off SWING KING and rallied to a stout drive in the late stages, then drew clear slowly. BET WICK was hard ridden to keep within striking distance of the leaders and finished gamely in the final drive. SWING KING was under strong pressure while forcing the pace, but could not keep up. WHAT TIME was prominent for three-quarters, then tired. WELSH STAR was done after going five-eighths. GOLDHED had no mishaps. CARRIE GRAND was never dangerous. BEST TIME was outrun. The others were never dangerous. JACAMAR, steadied for the first mile, went to the front nearing the eleventh jump, opened up a wide lead, saved ground and held sway to the end. GRUMPY engaged the pacemaker at the eighth fence, landed badly at the twelfth to drop back and was an easy second when GUATEMALA fell at the thirteenth. GNOMNIE was badly outrun from the start. GUATEMALA went very wide while setting the pace, began tiring after a mile and a half, fell at the thirteenth jump, then was remounted to finish. OLAN ran out of the course going to the fourth fence. The latter suffered interference at the first turn, improved her position slowly, but could not reach the leaders. STAR TURN was hurried along with the leaders and tired. NERVY NELLA tired after five-eighths. ROSIN raced poorly. TROUT STREAM was held safe and raced wide. LIGHT ACTION showed nothing. JINNEAL improved his position on the outside, swung very wide in the late stages and failed to last after getting to the front in the last eighth. MACHILLA raced in his best form, but could not stay when the real test came. BOSOPI raced gamely all the way. FAMOUS CLAYTON dropped back suddenly, then came again.
