HANKE OPERATION SUCCESSFUL LATONIA, Ky., July 28. The operation that apprentice Ernest Hanke underwent at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Covington, Ky., Thursday morning, proved successful and the youngster was reported as progressing splendidly by attaches of the sanitarium. It is expected he will be discharged from the hospital some time next week and he will return to his Chicago home with his parents for a rest of several weeks before making hi3 return to the saddle. Hanke is under . contract to F. P. Letellier, who has decided to freshen up his horses until the opening of the Hawthorne meeting in the Windy City and it is quite probable that Hanke will not don the silks again until that time rolls around.
