Hollywood Lassie Attracts Record of 136 Nominations INGLE WOOD, Calif., May 5.— Records for Hollywood Park nominations continue to be smashed. Today its a new high for the 5,000 Hollywood Lassie Stakes scheduled to be run July 2 when it will decide the championship of the meeting in -the two-year-old filly division. With Warren Wrights Calumet Farm of Lexington, Mimosa Stock Farm of New Jersey, Fred W. Hooper of Alabama, Dmitri Djordjadze of Virginia, Carr Hatch of Canada, and many other prominent out of state owners combining with California horsemen to swell the list, nominations closed with a record 136, racing secretary John R. Maluvius announced. This breaks by two the all-time Hollywood Park record for number of nominations which had just been set for the 1949 running of the Haggin Stakes. It far surpasses the old record for the Hollywood Lassie Stakes, which was 48, established three years ago.
